Things to consider when sending packages
It is very important that the shipping cost of your product is calculated properly and reflected to your customers correctly during your package shipments. Incorrect entry of data may result in miscalculation of the shipping cost and decrease in your sales. There are some points that we should pay attention to.
Many domestic and international cargo companies calculate the decisi instead of the weight of the product in their cargo shipments and determine the package fees according to these desi prices. For this reason, it is important to enter your package information correctly while sending your packages. Values entered more than they should be may cause customers who want to purchase the product to encounter high shipping costs, and the values entered incompletely may cause you to incur losses due to lower shipping costs in large-scale packages.
Many marketplace systems simplify the cargo calculations part and show the shipping cost free of charge for the sellers who use their contracted cargoes and demand that the cargo cost be included in the product price. This may result in exaggerated basket prices and decrease in sales if the customer purchases more than one product at the same time.
As Cosmedrome, our aim is to prepare a functional sales environment for our sellers by using the power of our platform to the fullest. It is important to know the working principle of the cargo system of our sellers in order not to experience the disadvantage of a marketplace platform where all control is on the sellers.
CARGO FEE CALCULATION SCENARIO
Adding cargo: The seller enters the desi-price ranges with the contracted cargo company into the system on the cargo add screen. (If Cosmedrome will use contracted cargoes, this information is entered as default)
Calculation of shipping cost per product: The system calculates the desi of the product by using the width/height/depth measurements of your products in the basket during the customer's purchase of your product.
Allocating the shipping fee: After calculating the desi of the shopping cart, it calculates the shipping cost of the order based on the desi range you entered for the cargo company chosen by the customer and adds it to the amount to be paid.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
During product adding / editing, your product dimensions (for 1 piece) in the "Shipping" tab must be entered correctly. Thus, when your customers want to buy your product, they will be met with the most accurate shipping fee in the cargo payment section. There are 2 different shipping methods available through your seller panel:
Shipping packages through Cosmedrome's shipping agreements: Incorrect size of your packages will affect shipping costs, and in both cases (underwriting or overwriting) your seller rating will decrease. In case the cargo price is less than the cargo charge allocated from the customer at the time of payment, the difference is allocated from the product price. In case of excess, the difference is transferred to the customer's wallet.
Package delivery via your own shipping agreement: If you use your own shipping agreements, you are responsible. Your customers make their shipping charges according to the weight or price ranges you have written in the cargo company add field, and Cosmedrome allocates the cargo fee from the customer based on the weight (deci) ranges you specify here. High shipping charges may cause your products not to be sold, and low shipping charges may cause you loss.
HOW IS THE DESI CALCULATION MADE?
The decis of an object is found by multiplying the width, height and height (in cm) of that object by 5000.
